A red tint obsolete banknote from the Central Bank of Virginia for fifty dollars and issued from Staunton VA on the eve of the Civil War in 1860. This 50.00 bill has a small vignette of an unknown woman in the lower left corner, in the upper right corner is a much larger vignette portraying Agriculture, Commerce and Justice. Staunton VA is in the fertile Shenandoah Valley which was known as the bread basket of the Confederate States of America. Large red 50 and L protectors are at the bottom and red surrounds the medallions in the corners. The condition of this obsolete VA note is fine and has a plain back.
