Van Gogh, Vincent - Blossoming Almond Tree Fine Art Print
A Museum Quality Reproduction print of Blossoming Almond Tree by Vincent Van Gogh. This painting, with a Japanese influence, was completed by Vincent Van Gogh in February of 1890. Vincent's brother, Theo had a baby boy early in this year and this was painted for the newborn infant. Theo and Vincent were very close throughout their lives, Theo named his baby Vincent and made Van Gogh the Godfather of the child. The baby's mother wrote to Vincent "He always looks with very great interest at Uncle Vincent's paintings". In May of 1890 Van Gogh was able to leave the asylum St. Pauls in St. Remy to see his family and he took this picture to his newborn nephew at this time. Unfortunately soon afterwards, his mental health declined again and he committed suicide in less than three months.
