Tennessee Obsolete Money Central Bank of TN Twenty Dollars
SKU: TN Central Bank 702
A rare twenty dollar banknote issued by the Central Bank of Tennessee in 1855 from Nashville. This bank also had branches in Dandridge and Paris, but this institution only lasted from 1855 to 1859. The center vignette portrays Liberty seated with an eagle, at the lower left is also Liberty seated with a patriotic shield. On the right is an early train. The condition of this note is choice crisp almost uncirculated, there aren't many of these left to begin with, but only a small fraction of those are in this lofty condition. The back is plain with the exception of the figures 1153 written in purple ink. The picture shows the actual obsolete Tennessee banknote that is for sale at Brandywine General Store.
