T-16 Confederate Money Fifty Dollars Jefferson Davis Very Fine 1861
SKU: Serial #20063
A Type 16 example of Confederate money featuring President Jefferson Davis, which will grade choice very fine. There is a paper pull to the left of the top of Davis's head and a few pinholes, but otherwise choice in every way. The overprints are still as dark green as they were 150 years ago when issued, also good centering and a lot of crispness left in the paper. The T-16 was issued on September 02, 1861 from Richmond Virginia and was the first note to feature Jefferson Davis, the president of the Confederacy. The picture shows the actual T-16 Confederate Money that is for sale at Brandywine General Store.
