Pennsylvania Obsolete Currency Altered Columbia Bank one dollar 1862
A 1.00 note on the Columbia Bank from Columbia Pennsylvania from 1862. This civil war currency is well worn, with a couple small tears and considerable wear, but still a good whole example which will grade very good. The vignettes are wonderful, with a large eagle in the center, a woman who is probably a representation of Liberty with an eagle on her shoulder and another woman on the right side. This is an altered note from the Columbia Bank from Washington DC, so it is not a genuine note on the Pennsylvania Columbia Bank. The picture shows the actual altered Columbia Bank one dollar civil war currency that is for sale at Brandywine General Store.
