New York Obsolete Currency City of Albany Quarter Change Note
SKU: NY Albany 25 cents 1000
A twenty five cent change note issued by the City of Albany, New York during the Civil War in 1862 and with a great serial number of 1000. On the left is a vignette of a city scene within a circle and on the lower right corner is a small animal that might be a badger which is beside the signature for the mayor. The chamberlain has signed the bill on the left. The condition is almost uncirculated, almost like someone wanted to save this serial number even in the 19th century. The picture shows the actual Albany quarter scrip note that is for sale at Brandywine General Store.
