Iris Dwarf Botanical Art Print

Fine Art Prints of Distinction

A Museum Quality Botanical Print of the Dwarf Iris as drawn by Curtis for his popular Botanical Magazine in the year 1787. He shows the complete plant in this picture, with the roots, stalk and a single deep purple bloom. Curtis describes the dwarf iris thus "The Iris Pumila grows wild in many parts of Hungary, affecting open and hilly situations and flowers in the garden during the month of April. It is a very hardy plant and will thrive in almost any soil or situation and is propagated by parting its roots in the autumn."
