Hunter, Clementine - Funeral from Africa House Mural Art Print
A Museum Quality Art Print of a Funeral from the Africa House Mural by Clementine Hunter. This artwork was painted in 1955 as part of the large mural that covers the upstairs walls in the Africa House on Melrose Plantation. This panel shows a funeral which happened from the earlier days of the artist's career as there is a horse and wagon pulling a couple people and flowers, the casket is being carried by four people and they are almost to the grave site. Many mourners are lined up behind the casket as well as more going into the Church, a man is ringing the bell, advertising that something is happening. The white Church sets up on the hill in the left upper corner, two men are in boats out in the river fishing. Please note that this image was taken from a mural and not a painting, so there is damage and it shows some in the final print. All the faults could not be taken out, however it still makes a decent print if you are a fan of folk art.
