Georgia Obsolete Currency Augusta Insurance and Banking Fifty Dollars
A fifty dollar bank note from the Augusta Insurance and Banking Company which was issued on January 20, 1860 from Augusta Georgia. This is one of the beautiful red tint notes produced by the American Bank Note Company and will grade fine - very fine, there are several pinholes and a couple bigger holes at the lower right center, which can be seen in the photo. The lower denominations of this issuer are fairly common, but the higher denominations, such as this note, aren't very common. The back of this obsolete Georgia currency is plain and commensurate with condition and age. The picture shows the actual Augusta Insurance and Banking Co fifty dollar bank note that is for sale at Brandywine General Store.
