Breininger Early Slip Decorated Redware Bowl
SKU: #19 Redware Bowl
An early Pennsylvania Dutch Redware bowl by Lester Breininger Pottery. This slip decorated folk art pottery features colors of black, green and yellow set against the natural colors of the redware. The diameter is 8" and the height is 2". The pottery bowl is signed on the bottom TM and 70. TM stands for Taylor Mansion where Lester Breininger did all his redware potting work and where he held his annual porch sales. This was a big event in Robesonia, PA, every summer Breininger would put the wares he made throughout the year on his huge porch and had the annual porch sale. The date of 1970 is an early piece of work so this is a great collectible, as Breininger was a well known Pennsylvania Dutch Redware Potter.
