An archival premium Quality art Print of Blakeley Park Graves of the Civil War era for sale by Brandywine General Store. These grave markers pay tribute to the last Confederate and Union Soldiers that fell in the Civil War as this was most likely the last battle of that major conflict. Blakeley was one of the oldest towns in Alabama, being settled early because of the deep harbor that allowed ships to come in and also due to land speculation. For most of the very early part of the 19th century, Blakeley was bigger than Mobil which was on the other side of the water. Unfortunately for the settlers and the land speculators, mosquitoes were very thick in Blakeley due to the swampy nature and yellow fever started running rampant. Within a few decades the town had completely died out with the population and land speculators moving over to Mobil. Blakeley saw a brief resurgence during the Civil War as a Fort town that provided protection for the port and city of Mobil. The Blakeley Park was established in 1981 to commemorate the last battle of the Civil War. Civil War art print #45
