The flouring mills, factories, forges, saw mills, Churches and all roads are shown in keys on this map. It was preceded by Mill's Atlas of South Carolina which was issued in 1825, the NY atlas was followed closely by a large atlas of Maine which was published later in the same year of 1829. This cartography work was originally a hand colored engraving and is important today to show the early history of the this area.
