An archival premium Quality Art Print of Orpheus Charming the Animals painted by Roelandt Savery for sale by Brandywine General Store. Orpheus had the power to enchant with his music not only all living creatures but also the trees and rocks. He should be playing a lyre instead of the violin, as Savery pictures him here. Some of the animals around him include lions, pelican, ostrich and buffalo on the left side of the creek. On the right side are an elephant, camel, parrots and more. In the creek are ducks and numerous other waterfowl. This painting has been dated to the 1620s by the painting style and techniques, some experts think that the animals on the left side of the creek might have been painted by Hans Savery the Younger and not Roelandt. The original of this painting is now at the National Gallery in London England. Please be aware that this painting is almost 500 years old and shows considerable wear and cracking in the oil paints, these flaws can not be taken out without ruining the original vision of the artist. Old Masters art print #27
