A Museum Quality Art Print of Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven for sale by Brandywine General Store. This was a play in the early part of the 20th century and starred Henry Ludlowe, the poster itself was copyrighted in 1908 by the US Lithograph Company. The Raven is a narrative poem written by the American macabre writer Edgar Allen Poe in 1845 and still remains one of the most famous poems ever written. This poster shows the student setting at a table that is full of his books, he is looking up to the right at the raven while a ghost of Lenore is in the other corner behind his head. The poem tells of a talking raven's mysterious visit to a distraught lover and follows the man's slow fall into utter madness. The lover, is identified as a student, is lamenting the loss of his love, Lenore. Sitting on a bust of Pallas, the raven seems to further antagonize the young student and adds to his misery, with its constant repetition of the word "Nevermore". This poem did make Poe well known and popular in his lifetime, but it did not bring him any financial success. Picture #33 an archival premium theater print by Brandywine General Store.
