An archival premium Quality Art Print of Agapanthus or Lily of the Nile by Monet for sale by Brandywine General Store. In his last twenty years, Claude Monet pretty much exclusively painted from his gardens at Giverny France. These gardens were a great extravagance for the artist, the upkeep required six full time laborers. It was in these gardens in which this picture of Agapanthus was painted, Monet had planted these along the banks of his pond along with several other types of indigenous and imported vegetation such as wisteria, irises and bamboos. Agapanthus are a thin wispy lily plant that is a native of Africa and is also known as the African Lily or Lily of the Nile. The original size of this canvas is 78 by 70 1/4 inches, so it is a very large painting. Monet painted this artwork sometime between 1914 to 1926. Sylvia Slifka donated Agapanthus to the Museum of Modern Art by in memory of Joseph Slifka. Famous Artists print #46
