Strawberry Creek is the principal watercourse that runs through the city of Berkeley California. Back at the time of this painting, this area was probably not very settled as of yet and a lot of trees and scenery still existed. The scene shows a beautifully colored patch of woods with large gnarled trees with the creek running thru the picture on a rocky bed.
