1991 Chipper Jones Upper Deck Rookie Baseball Card

The 1991 Upper Deck Rookie Card for Chipper Jones which has been certified by PSA at Mint 9. The front of this rookie card shows Chipper in a defensive pose at shortstop with a top prospect in the lower corner. The back tells us that Atlanta used its first pick in 1990 to fill a void at the major league level. The Braves were hoping Chipper Jones was the good hitting shortstop they were looking for. Larry Wayne Jones, Jr. became the first player from Florida chosen first overall in the 26 year history of the baseball draft. In high school, Jones led the Bolles School to the Class 2A championship in his junior year and to a runner up finish last season. He was also a pitcher in high school, but isn't considered a major league prospect for pitching. Available for sale at Brandywine General Store.
