1982 Cal Ripken, Jr. Donruss Rookie Baseball Card PSA Mint 9
The rookie card by Donruss in 1982 for the Ironman Cal Ripken, Jr. This was number 405 in the Donruss series for the year. On the back the card states that Cal almost made the Orioles 25 man roster in spring training after a sensational 1980 season at Charlotte in which he hit 25 homeruns and knocked in 78 runs. Cal was the Oriole's number 2 pick in the June 1978 draft, it was said he could play shortstop as well as 38, his father Cal Ripken Sr, who was 3rd base coach when Cal was a rookie. This Cal Ripken 1982 rookie Donruss baseball card, available from Brandywine General Store, has been certified as Mint 9 by PSA.
