Colbert County is home to the Alabama Music Hall of Fame, the Tennessee Valley Art Center, the Coon Dog Memorial Graveyard and Ivy Green, the birthplace of Helen Keller. The courthouse in Tuscumbia was completed in 1882. In 1908 the interior of the courthouse was destroyed by fire, but left the brick walls standing. In 1909 the edifice was rebuilt and the clock tower added. Picture #123a a print made from a picture in the Highsmith collection.
